Mew~

Here's how I usually paint trees in Photoshop~

It was a rush job, since it was mainly done for a feller who asked how I do it, at a forum. At any rate, I hope it helps somebody.

Please excuse the rushed...ness of it.

hey what happened to the tutorial i asked you for hmm?
I don't like doing tutorials, normally. This one just happened to be really simple and easy to explain~

grumbles...fine...can you at least send a note briefly explianing how you color?
: X

For cel-shading, I reference my tones from the anime template I assembled (just a white, blank PSD file that has all of my most used colors for hair, skin, etc.) and make sure I stay true to my lighting sources.

If you note, in the tree tutorial, how I lock my tree layer, so that no paint goes anywhere but the tree, you can basically get the jist of how my cel-shade works.

Each object (hair, skin) goes on a different layer. When I apply the base colors for each layer, I lock it and then shade. This way, there is no mess, no fuss. As long as your base coloring is in the lines, your shading will never stray~

Anyway, I'm sure that while I revamp all of my old tutorials I'll come back to this and make it clearer (ie. with pictures).
